This site operates like a tube site and includes member area content with a variety of scenes.
Porns.com is a tube site, a trend which is new to me but I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of these in the coming future. Basically it's a community site where users can come and upload their own videos, while finding new content to download at the same time. The focus of this review is on the premium area of the site which costs $14.95 per month for membership. It is there that you are able to create a profile and have access to the un-restricted 6,659 videos, community member pictures, and more.
Porns.com is huge. They've got more than 6,659 video clips on file, from simple video to actual DVD scenes. Listed on their site it says that there are more than 2,385 viewing hour’s worth of content during this review.
Roughly 23 new video scenes (12-40 minutes in length) are added every day. This large archive is on it's way to being massive, and quick.
The benefit of the tube site community is the ability to not only interact with other users, but also the ability view content that has been uploaded by them. I didn't notice a whole lot of community interaction just yet, however.
A couple nice browse features include a porn star index, which makes browsing models easy, and content categories to help search through specifics.
Reasonably priced. For a large video site, $14.95 is a fair price.
Nearly all of the content here can be found elsewhere. These are DVDs and video clips that you can find on other sites or by ordering the actual DVD yourself.
The design here is plain. You browse by model, keyword or category only and what's listed beyond that is a guessing game. Videos have short descriptions, but no real scene or model info. Downloads are offered in a couple different quality formats for WMV player, and one file format for MPEG and Mobile. Multiple pages are opened when browsing and the site as a whole is lacking user information & the tools necessary to do anything other than download the content.
The highest quality download option returns an overly average quality picture, with 2300k bitrates and 640x480 in size. The quality can vary quite a bit from clip to clip too.
When I first tried to download a clip to my computer without using the download manager, the speed came in as low as 30k at some points. Things moved along a little better as time went on, and the download manager certainly helped, but it should be noted that downloads here will take more time than what you're probably used to for a video site.
Right now there aren't very many member profiles, and almost no interaction between them at all. Hopefully in time this area of the site will develop more. The community design is somewhat similar to the MySpace layout and could be a fun feature for active users.
No site instruction. Although the design is basic, Porns.com doesn't give users and helpful feedback or tools on how to best use their site. I found myself wandering the pages aimlessly, and even getting restless. It can't be easy to get members involved in the community if you don't give them any instruction on how to do things.
Overall I can value this site for what it is, a large collection of random video clips loosely categorized and barely described. The downloads are slow, but the clips they sure do deliver. If you're just looking for a little extra porn to put on your hard drive, Porns.com offers a decent amount at a reasonable price. Hopefully the community feature will become more active with time. The biggest negative to a membership here is all the competition they've got with actual DVD sites that are starting to offer some pretty amazing quality downloads, with plenty more user features and viewing options.
