Bad Puppy has been around pretty much since the dawn of the Internet. And over the years it's evolved from a very amateur site that scanned images from print media to a production house shooting its own content with high production values. The site has gone through a number of versions over the years in terms of its content and how it's presented. Come find out whether the latest has been an improvement over those of the past.
They don't go out of their way to say what's exclusive and what isn't. In fact, even on the tour page, they don't specifically mention exclusivity at all. Nevertheless, they're not only a website, but a gay porn studio, so presumably they showcase some of their original productions here. The issue may be that some of the material they've shot is available on other sites and some of the scenes probably weren't made in-house. You'll find some Full HD footage that looks very crisp and clear, mostly when you check out some of the newer updates.
As I mentioned in my intro, BadPuppy used to be a very amateur site and even when in-house production started, the talent often involved fresh-faced amateurs who hadn't really worked much in the gay porn biz. However, as they became more established, they had the money and the clout to hire more established performers, including well-known pornstars. That evolution provides a nice amount of diversity and you've got everything from shy boy-next-door cuties to well-known twinks to muscular jocks with big cocks.
You get access to Club Amateur USA and it, too, has undergone a major redesign and looks a lot better and is more pleasant to navigate. Additionally, you get loads of video feeds covering a wide variety of gay action. Many of these were previously offered by the site, but were scattered across the pages in a series of sections that made for a somewhat confusing browsing experience. Now they're all housed in a clearly marked bonus section so you know what content belongs to Bad Puppy and what thumbnails may end up redirecting you elsewhere.
Updates are frequent so there's someone doing something new quite often.
The site had been in need of a redesign for quite some time and now it not only looks better than ever, but it's also easy to use. You can track your favorites, sort the content and leave comments. There's only a basic search, but there are both model and keyword tags helping you track down related scenes.
The content will work on your Roku and it's great to see one of the oldest gay porn sites keeping up with the times.
From the sampling I downloaded across the various pages, the screen sizes and bit rates are consistent across all the videos. However, just because the stats are the same doesn't mean all the flicks look equally terrific on screen. There are definitely some instances where the original source was probably much lower in quality and they've merely reformatted it so that the numbers match the rest and for those, the playback can be blurry or, in some cases, you can actually see the pixels. Some of their older scenes probably would've looked better if they'd been left in their original format.
Some of the older photos aren't very large and, as mentioned, this site had some humble beginnings where some of its content was scanned images from printed material. And you'll find some of those pictures when you dig back into the older updates. It also would appear that sometimes what they're calling photos might actually simply be really large vid caps. But maybe they're simply pics that aren't quite in focus and they certainly aren't blurry enough to not count as part of the content.
There's enough content here that an advanced search certainly wouldn't go amiss. And although you can sort by popularity, it's not clear how they determine what's popular, because you can't seem to rate anything.
In the past, it was a bit overwhelming to work your way through the content, but the new, simple interface and streamlined navigation make for a much more relaxing experience while still providing you with access to plenty of solo and hardcore gay action. It was a real leader in the gay porn industry at one point in regard to its online offerings, but now it's a solid enough collection to guarantee some level of satisfaction without necessarily blowing you away with what it's got.
